If you missed the meeting, or couldn’t follow along for us droning on at you for an hour, that’s ok! We have the meeting minutes, slideshow, and a recording available to you.

Important Raid Links

Raid Rules and Regulations – Covers expectations of all raiders, from Casual all the way to Mythic-specific rules.

Mythic Expectations Guide – This is meant for less experienced Mythic raiders, whether they be heroic raiders stepping up for the first time or those going from more PUG or casual mythic into serious raiding. Still, it’s a good read and review for everybody!

Slideshow

Video / Audio recording (currently uploading) NOTE: Somewhere around “TWW Changes”, it stopped showing new slides. Please reference the Slideshow or transcript for when I start talking about things that are remaining the same, trial information, and questions.

Intro / Welcome

  • General welcome to all new and returning players (there are many, so we won’t be doing specific intros)
    • Include your character name in your Discord name somewhere
  • Brief intro of the raid leads + Uro
    • Quetz: recruitment, tech support
    • Tiraffe: number-crunching, analysis
    • Auntmay: rosters
    • Sparkles: heroic raid team
    • All: strategy, shotcalling, analysis
  • Choose your main by August 22nd.
    • If you hate your main after hitting max and playing with hero talents, talk with us and we’ll figure something out.

Guild expectations

  • VISAGE (Visibility, Inclusivity, Support, and Advocacy in Gaming and Esports)
    • No sexism, racism, LGBTQ-phobia, etc. Be a nice person. Act as if you are in a room having a conversation together.
    • If you say something accidentally inappropriate, you will be politely redirected the first time.
      • You will not be politely redirected again.
      • “That’s so gay / that’s so aids” is not acceptable here.
      • No “gamer words”.
    • Effort matters (apologize if necessary)
    • Adult humor is fine, but don’t be gross, excessive, or overtly oversexualized – there is a limit.
      • Some character names might be “too much”. (semenhunter is too much VS axelesschaps is pleasantly cheeky)
    • Don’t make quetzie ask tiraffe or auntmay to say what she already said
      • They will not be as nice about it.

Keep Communication open, if something is wrong or bothering you, let us know

  • Monthly donations / BoE farms
    • Covers the cost of gems, enchants, potions, feasts, etc – all provided to you for free.
    • You are on your own for crafting specific pieces of gear
    • There are not yet BoEs in the next raid, but there may be in the future
  • Crafters
    • We usually have a number of dedicated crafters per profession, with a wide spread of specialties to cover all bases
    • Check the crafting threads for the available artisans and their recipes.
  • Other events
    • Weekend team is not a feeder / alt gearing team. Please respect their autonomy.
    • Occasionally Uro may ping us for additional healers, tanks, etc in event of a call out. You do not have to take part, totally optional.
    • Check out PvP, sunday funday, organized mythic + nights, normal raid, etc 🙂
      • Organized mythic night often runs at a lower keystone level than we require for raid. Can gear alts, farm crests, etc, or just socialize with the masses 🙂

Raid expectations

  • Boss threads will be updated throughout the week, but we try to have them updated as early as possible. Check them when rosters get posted for any additional / new information.
  • Gather at 6:30 to pull boss (not trash) at 7
    • Time for trash clear, get enchants / gems, etc.
  • Absent or late (after 6:30)? Use the attendance channel, ASAP
    • Raids are not “signup”, raids are “assume you’re here unless otherwise specified”.
  • No toys that make noises or cause your character to shout
    • Race-swapper is fine, but the transmorpher beacon is not
    • No swap blast, toy train, etc.
  • Rosters
    • We aim to have rosters up on Wednesday, the night before raid. Late call-outs will change posted rosters.
    • If you are not rostered you are expected to be generally available to bring in should we require a swap out. You don’t have to be in-game, just available by ping.
    • If you’re not rostered, and not around, please call out in attendance channel so we do not expect to be able to bring you in if needed.
    • We seek to rotate rosters on multi-week prog bosses hourly or so, so everyone gets a chance. We will have people streaming so you can keep up with anything that changes when you’re not rostered.
    • If you have questions about rosters, ask us outside raid hours. Sometimes we make mistakes (ask Final about last tier – sorry final!), and sometimes we have reasons that may not be obvious for swapping you in or out.
  • Raid shot calls / individual callouts
    • We will try to call out specific people for specific actions if we notice something happening multiple times. Do not take offense if you hear “Auntmay, stack with the group” or “Tiraffe, you need to be on the marker”. Effective communication is key.
      • Examples: Missing orbs on Smolderon, dispelling early on Tindral, wrong side on Nimue.
    • If/when specific people are handling certain mechanics, they be given relatively free reign to do callouts for that mechanic
      • Examples: ‘Duckmaster’ callouts on Mythic Council of Dreams or seedhandling on Mythic Tindral
      • We will also assign 1-2 back-ups for mechanics ahead of time, so keep an ear out
    • If you need something – a defensive, a replacement, etc, use your name / character name and be specific.
      • “I need an external!” is not descriptive, nor is “I died” descriptive.
      • “Quetzie needs an external” & “Someone soak orange marker”
    • Brez & Bloodlust will be called by raidleads.
    • PI and Innervate will be assigned by raidleads. Don’t bug the raidleads or any of the priests about it during raid if you believe someone else can use it better
      • We’ll be the Ulria sheets to help make these decisions
  • Required addons: MRT, Bigwigs or DBM, Weakauras (update addons every week)
    • We will share specific notes or packs that are expected to be used per boss, located in threads.
      • Sometimes, using a different pack from the rest of the group is OK. Other times, different packs use different markers or terms that can be confusing – igira spears, echo / tinder marks.
  • Great Vault expectations
    • 4-8 dungeons of the highest loot drops you can get per week for Great Vault
    • At the start of the season we want to see full vaults from everyone, barring work / vacation / etc.
      • We’ll go over Delves a bit later, since they’re new and replacing the pvp row in the vault
      • More info on TWW m+ changes later in this meeting as well
    • No direct penalty, but people who fall behind in this will tend to fall behind in raid
    • You do not have to “push”, just do the minimum viable key to get the gear
      • IE get myth 1/4, not myth 2/4 in terms of ilvl.
    • We will reach out if we see people are not doing “enough” per week.
      • Obviously, we don’t require that you only run m+ with guildies, but if you do, coordinate in the keystone channels in discord so other folks know when you want to run stuff and what your schedule is
    • Yes, we have replaced or benched people for raid-logging with subpar performance.
      • That isn’t to say that you can’t raidlog because you’ve gotten everything you need out of dungeons, for example, but don’t fall behind if you’re spending less time on the game
  • Extra raid days are not required, but people might make them / run them anyway.
    • Normally these are tuesday or wednesday heroic raids after we’ve hit full-time mythic. Helps avoid losing loot to pugs.

Player Performance

  • Personal Responsibility
    • Not rostered? Absent? Need loot? “Pug it”.
      • Use guild keystone channel, organize heroic raids on off nights, etc
      • We can’t organize everything for everyone who misses raid bosses
    • Look at your performance outside of raid nights.
      • Recommend an hour / week of self-reflection as an average.
      • Don’t just look at parses.
      • How much damage did you take from avoidable mechanics?
      • When you compare to your sims, does your damage profile look off?
      • PoVs of your class / spec on fights are particularly useful – contains specialized recommendations / hints
      • Ask us for help, do “log parties” with friends, use the discord, etc.
  • Help to “git gud”
    • VISAGE Mentorship – not just for minorities! – You get a 1:1 trainer / teacher who is an expert in your class. These mentors are often multi-CE, 3500+ IO, rank 1-5, etc for their spec. Some classes/specs have longer wait times than others. On average we’ve seen 20k DPS gains (DF season 3 numbers) in 1-2 weeks from our mentees in-guild. Everyone has reported positive experiences. Sign up on the VISAGE Discord.
    • Wowanalyzer – Varies per spec but when it works, it works. Often gives you really easy data points to improve upon.
    • Archon (formerly subcreation) – uses live WCL data to help plan out what gear, embellishments, stats, talents, etc you should use.
    • Llorgs – Help plan out your rotation, defensive usage, etc. This is good for personals. Raid CDs (Rally, darkness, healing CDs) are best left to the raid leads & healers to plan.
    • Warcraftlogs – if you can’t read ‘em, ask for help 🙂
    • Raidbots – make sure you’re running more than a 5 minute patchwerk sim. There’s a wealth of options (some are supported by some specs and others are not). Change the time, check and see if your spec supports HAC, use gear compare, etc.
    • Our discord channels – don’t be embarrassed to ask

Loot Rules / Rolls / RCLC

  • Prioritize 2/4 sets
  • Auntmay: rclc stuff goes here
    • Tier 1: BiS
    • Tier 2: Upgrades, catalyst, alts, later trials (not you!)
    • Tier 3: Offspec
    • Tier 4: M+ loot and Transmog (for THIS character only)
  • Tiraffe: tomatoes stuff goes here (now pumpkin)
    • Going full loot council (sims + performance + attendance) for dps gain
      • We’ll bring in rotating members in to weigh in on rare loot drops Tues/Wed via discord thread
      • 1H fist weapon (unique, part of a weapon/trinket set)
      • Crit heavy ring (nature damage proc, procs more often if you deal nature)
    • Healer rare drops (and general healer loot interests) will be discussed in a healer pow-wow later so all the healers are on the same page
    • Non-dps rare loot is free roll (haste heavy neck and ‘Definitely not sporecloak’)
  • New tmog rule: Roll on tmog only if your class uses the item
  • Recipes / patterns go to the guild to either sell or distribute to dedicated crafters.
  • Consider holding onto catalyst charges until first vault

Discord

  • Not everything will be pinged. It is up to you to pay attention to the required channels without pings.
  • Required Channels:
    • Raiding Announcements
    • Mythic Boss threads (inside Mythic Progression)
  • Highly recommended channels:
    • Mythic Progression
  • Other useful channels:
    • Keystone LFG / Guild Keys
      • Pinging people here is welcome / expected! Organize groups here 🙂
    • Announcements
    • Ptr & pve channels
    • Weakauras / addons channel
  • No soundboards, no games, etc during raid hours.

Raid Tools

  • Guild tools
    • Wowaudit
    • Readycheck.io
    • Viserio
    • Boss threads
  • Performance tools
    • Raidbots
    • WCL
    • Wow analyzer (spec-specific)
  • BiS-finding tools
    • Archon (formerly subcreation)
    • Bloodmallet (grain of salt)
    • Raidbots
    • Class Discords & Guides

M+ stuff

TWW changes:

  • Ilvl differential between pre-raid and raid launch will be larger than previously – content will be harder for longer.
  • Gear
    • Gear has more “steps” to upgrade (myth is 0/6 instead of 0/4)
  • Great Vault
    • No longer has PvP, has delves instead
  • Delves
    • Delves are good for heroic gear and will be very useful in the first 2-4 weeks.
    • Delves may contain BiS trinx -_-
  • Early-access is not required
    • Early access grants access to normal dungeons, intro questlines, etc.
    • Heroics come out on the official launch day
    • M0s, M+, raid, pvp, etc all come out the same day.
    • Heroic groups instead of m0 week on Aug 29/30
  • M+ gear drop chart

TWW remains the same:

Trials & Role Swaps

  • You do not have to be in-guild during your trial, but we recommend it, since it makes grouping / distributing consumables easier.
  • Trials officially begin on the day of the first prog raid, so Sept 12th, and last 4 weeks.
    • During this period you can expect us to regularly check-in with regards to performance and making sure you feel “at home”
    • Trials work both ways! Always feel free to reach out to the RLs or to Uro if you ever have questions or concerns.
  • You are of course free to explore other options / guilds, but you may not loot-lock yourself during the trial period. Loot-locking yourself once is an accident; on multiple occasions it’s going to be viewed as griefing progression.
  • Start-of-tier trials will be on equal standing as existing guild members in terms of loot rolls. You will not fall behind just because you are a trial! We want you to be part of the friendship circle, and that includes equal treatment on loot
    • Mid-to-end tier trials will be given loot rolls a step below raid team members. This might happen around the half-patch.
      • This ensures that dedicated progression members have a higher chance at loot, but doesn’t hurt a trial’s chances at progression in the early season.
  • Those who are role-swapping will not be under an official trial period, but we will be doing similar check-ins during progression that we would to trials, to make sure you’re adjusting to new responsibilities and setups.
  • If you plan on building up multiple specs, whichever spec you’re playing on the most bosses will be your primary spec when it comes to loot

  • Reminder: Choose your main by August 22nd.
    • If you hate your main after hitting max and playing with hero talents, talk with us and we’ll figure something out.

Questions:

  • “Will the slideshow information be available in the future?”
    • Yup! (It’s this website post :))
  • “What’s the plan for starting mythic? Are we farming heroic for a few weeks? Are we just gonna jump in after AOTC?”
    • Normally we do a day of normal, weeks of heroic. How long we stay in heroic depends on how fast we’re killing bosses – if we full-clear heroic thursday, we’re doing mythic. But when it gets to full clear, when do we do full-time mythic? Depends a little on how much people still need from heroic. It hits a cutoff point eventually, people need to run on their own. We also will have a period where we do skips to cut down on heroic time spent as well. We try to balance loot needs VS stalling progression. There’s also the possibility of the optional tuesday night heroic for a few weeks where 10-ish people get together to run the raid to avoid pugging.
  • “Is there a tag for the M+ LFG group channel? Like @ Mythic+?”
    • We don’t have one because our discord is fuckin’ massive, and also there’s a ton of different levels of play. But we will (we did!) set up a tag for people who are mythic raiders and are opting into a “tag me for dungeons” role.
  • “If we decide that we want to remain in the guild but mythic is too much for us difficulty or timewise, can we stay here?”
    • Yes, of course! We’re open-invite and have a huge community. If Mythic or even MoD isn’t for your main, you can still stick around!
  • “It felt like last expansion we spent a lot of time in around”
    • Again, we need people to UPDATE THEIR LOOT SHEETS! Both heroic AND mythic. We had people that didn’t update the sheet that didn’t need items anymore. Also, sockets are NOT BIS, they are a sidegrade. You can also mark Sidegrade but add a note about it on RC.io.
