Tonight we had a pick-up from where we left off last night for G’huun. Congrats to Ministry members new and old: Beastthuntt, Shaynanigans, Nighteld, Livre, Gnardawg, Jynxx, and Harman!
Composition for 1/11 and 1/18
Next week, those who got benched on Friday or missed the Saturday group that lack AOTC will have priority to remain in-group to get AOTC (for example: Uncletouchyy got sat on Friday when we trimmed people, and Yarzza missed Saturday).
We pared down our raid size considerably – on the first night we went from 30 down to 24, and then from 24 down to 21 on the second night. Our most successful attempts thus far have been made with between 20 and 22 people, so this is likely the size we’ll be going with.
If you get benched on G’huun in the next 2 weeks, don’t over-analyze what you may be doing wrong. We need a mix of those who are incredibly strong and most familiar with the fight mechanics, as well as those who don’t have AOTC yet. If you are average DPS and average mechanics and already have AOTC, we may pull you out just to get a body out of the arena. Getting G’huun’s health and damage down, and creating breathing room for spread mechanics, is more important than having someone average on the ground.
We’ll likely have a group of 15-18 “core”, and fill in the remaining slots with those who haven’t yet gotten AOTC.
Log Analysis
I did some analysis on the logs from Friday that helped people understand the mechanics better, and what needed to change. The relevant fights are G’huun wipes 3-8.
Explosive Corruption Orbs
Post pare-down, this is a list of people who got hit by corruption orbs. It lists how many they got hit by in each fight, then the total hits and how many fights that was over.
For example:
Azz: 1, 3, 1 = 5/3
Azz got hit by oatmeal in 3 fights. In the first of those, he got hit by 1. In the second he got hit by 3. In the third, he got hit by 1. He was hit for a total of 5 times over the 3 fights he got hit. You want a low first number and a very low second number.
Ari: 1, 1, 1, 2 = 5/4
Azz: 1, 3, 1 = 5/3
Beast: 2, 1, 2, 1, 1 = 7/5
Corig: 1, 1, 2, 1, 2 = 7/5
Evi: 1, 1, 1, 1 = 4/4
Gnar: 1, 1, 1, 1, 3 = 7/5
Harm: 2, 1, 2, 1 = 6/4
Juls: 1, 2, 1, 1, 2, 3 = 10/6
Jynx: 1, 1, 3 = 5/3
Kym: 2, 1, 1, 2 = 6/4
Kon: 1, 1 = 2/2
Lineda: 1, 1, 1 = 3/3
Lillith: 1, 2 = 3/2
Livre: 1, 1, 1, 1 = 4/4
Quetzie: 0 = 0/0
Rip: 3, 1, 1, 3, 2 = 10/5 *
Rowdy: 1, 1 = 2/2
Shay: 1, 2, 2 = 5/3
Sylv: 3, 3, 1, 1, 1 = 9/5
Telan: 1, 1 = 2/2
Tiraffe: 1, 1, 2, 2 = 6/4
Vermin: 1, 2, 1, 2 = 6/4
Xux: 1, 1, 1, 2, 1, 1 = 7/6
Yaz: 3, 1, 1, 1 = 6/4
Some people got hit by orbs because other people fucked up. That happens, but probably not more than once or twice. If you are a ranged person who got hit by more than 2, you probably need to reposition or flat-out pay more attention (it’s likely that some of you are not wiggling enough to the side; your hit box is bigger than you’d think).
If you’re an orb runner, you should “look before you leap”, since I’ve seen a few orb runners jump down and collide with them as they land.
If you’re melee, try to position yourself better so you can more easily get out of the group when you have the debuff, or so you can see orbs.
If you’re a melee person (or even if you’re not, I suppose) try to call out if an orb is floating through ghuun’s body into the group of melee. I suspect half of the melee hits are a result of orbs floating through his fat ass.
Healthstones & Early Deaths
If your name is towards the top of the list on the right, and is either absent or low from the list on the left, you need to correct it. I know that some people want to save healthstones until the end of the fight, but I would rather you make it to phase 3 and die in phase 3 because you already used a healthstone, than not even make it to phase 3 (if your name is low on both lists, don’t worry about it, you’re likely able to heal yourself so your healthstones can be saved)
If your name is low on the left and high on the right, or absent entirely on the left, I suggest following the instructions 3/4 the way down this page to make a healthstone weakaura. This will pop when your health gets low, to remind you to use it.
Gaze of G’huun
These were the hits by Gaze of G’huun. Since my name is on that list, I’m not afraid to say it: suck less :^) (I think some got hit by it on a wipe call, so, grain of salt). That being said, there’s not nearly as many names on this list as I expected to see, so good job.
Malignant Growth
This list shows the number of people (and number of times) a person was hit by Malignant Growth. These are the red pustules that pop up in triangles in phase 3. If your number is high, chances are you’re standing too close to the edge of the safe zone. As previously mentioned, your hit box is bigger than you’d think. This is an EIGHT (8) YARD ability, not a 5 yard ability like Wave, so stand farther away than you need to for wave.
